A will providing a new beginning
A will to the Finnish Refugee Council is a valuable gift which enables the inflicted countries to get back on their feet again. Will donations are important in securing the funding of our work. All donations are directed to our work: as a non profit organisation we do not have to pay any taxes.
We will gladly provide any information needed for the donation by will but here are a few guidelines.
- With a will you can control any inheritance a direct heir has. If direct heirs exist, their share should be taken into account. This share is at least a half of the inheritance. The widow holds a special position. If a person does not have closer relatives than cousins the inheritance will be directed to the government if a will is not in effect.
- The will is written in the presence of two witnesses and it has to be signed in person. The witnesses also sign the will and thus witness it.
- Two copies of the will can be produced so as to be kept in separate locations. The Finnish Refugee Council can hold the will for you. This is strictly confidential and any information is not given to a third party.
- The will can be changed or cancelled at any time. For more information about the will, please contact the executive director of the Finnish Refugee Council, Kim Remitz on +358 9 6962 6469.
