Support in integrating and participating in everyday Finnish life
The Finnish Refugee Council’s work in Finland is informational, educational and practical. The FRC’s integration activities are aimed at both recently arrived refugees and immigrants as well as active immigrants who have been residents in Finland for some time.
The Finnish Refugee Council aims to support the immigration and participation of refugees in everyday Finnish life by solving possible conflict situations in residential areas and by helping the immigrants to deal with everyday issues through peer support groups. The FRC also offers support and information for the immigrants to establish and run associations.
Besides these projects, the FRC also publishes Pakolainen magazine and provides information on refugee and immigration issues. The organization participates in the Finnish political dialogue concerning immigration and refugees issues, as well as in decision-making processes. The basis of the activity is the establishment of a vast network involving civil organizations and authorities.
